Fluconazole is used to treat serious fungal or yeast infections, including vaginal candidiasis, oropharyngeal candidiasis (thrush, oral thrush), esophageal candidiasis (candida esophagitis), other candida infections (including urinary tract infections, peritonitis [inflammation of the lining of the stomach], and infections that may occur in different parts of the body), or fungal (cryptococcal) meningitis. It is also used in children on life support called extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). This medicine works by killing the fungus or yeast, or preventing its growth. Fluconazole is also used to prevent candidiasis in patients having bone marrow transplants who receive cancer or radiation treatment.
Direction to Use:
DIFLUCAN® ONE is administered orally. Use in AdultsFor vaginal candidiasis, fluconazole 150 mg (DIFLUCAN® ONE) should beadministered as a single oral dose. The median time to onset of symptom relief following a 150 mg single oral dose for thetreatment of vaginal candidiasis is one day. The range of time to onset of symptomrelief is one hour to nine days. Use in ChildrenSingle dose fluconazole is not recommended for use in children under 18 years of ageexcept under doctor supervision.
Side Effects
Common fluconazole side effects include nausea, headache, and stomach pain. Diarrhea is also possible. Mild side effects tend to resolve on their own or go away when you finish your treatment course. Fluconazole (Diflucan) 150mg capsules contain fluconazole, which is an antifungal medicine used to treat certain types of fungal infections. The capsules have a gelatin shell containing a white powder.
Active Ingredient:Fluconazole 150mg
Indications:Treatment of vaginal candidiasis, fungal skin and nail infections. Also used for systemic fungal infections like respiratory, urinary tract and systemic candidal infections.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to fluconazole or similar antifungal medicines. Caution if any liver dysfunction.
Dosage:The standard dose is 150mg as a single dose for vaginal thrush. Other infections may need higher doses up to 400mg daily for up to 12 weeks.

Each capsule contains 150mg fluconazole.
Treatment of vaginal yeast infections.
Other infections may need higher doses up to 150mg daily for up to 12 weeks.
Patients should complete the full course as EFFIRED as taking a high dose could lead to an increase in fluconazole levels. Monitor liver enzymes and rehydration serum levels as required.
Avoid use with close monitoring of liver function during fluconazole therapy. Co-administration with systemic corticosteroid may also lead to drug levels going up.
Headaches, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, headache, nausea, and dizziness have been common reported with fluconazole use. The signs and symptoms of allergic reactions like rash, itching, swelling or difficulty breathing and dizziness should be reported to a doctor as normal.
